Why 4SR

FUNCTIONALITY FIRST, NOT PRICE OR DESIGN

At 4SR we produce functional and safe products, then consider the design and lastly a price. We believe in producing the best possible garments for bikers and then workout the price afterwards, giving riders all over the world a genuine piece of riding kit developed with safety first. Our products are not built to meet a price-point, we build what is right for you and every detail has a rational purpose.

DEVELOPMENT AND EXPERIENCE FROM COMPETITIVE MOTORSPORT

Tested in real conditions!
4SR have always worked very closely with experienced professional racers to develop our products. We have only one model line of one-piece and two-piece leather suits, but we have developed and evolved this range over the last 10 years! This cut has been proven time after time, surviving numerous crashes by professional riders in MotoGP, WSBK, BSB and not forgetting you, our loyal customers riding on the streets and circuits for your own enjoyment.

COOPERATION WITH LEADING PROTECTOR MANUFACTURERS

4SR products must always meet the highest safety standards. Therefore, we do not make our own protectors, only co-operating with leading manufacturers who produce the best protectors for our industry.
No longer do we use hard plastic pads with a foam layer, this type has been superseded by Viscoelastic armour, which is soft and body-forming until it is impacted. 4SR suits are equipped with 18 ergonomically placed protectors, the highest number of protectors in any standard production suit ever.
In our 4SR leather garments, we use Betac viscoelastic protectors. Meeting the current EN 1621-1: 2012 standard, including additional tests at elevated T + temperatures which bikers are exposed to during the summer months.
In our 4SR Kevlar® jeans we choose Italian made Safe Tech, still a soft armour, but slightly larger in size to cover the knee and shin completely. These 3D ergonomically shaped protectors are again Level 2 T + certified.

CERTIFICATION DOESN'T PROTECT YOU, LEATHER SUIT DOES.

Any motorcycle rider should be aware of the fact that requirements of CE EN 1621-1 are so low that even low quality products can pass it. 4SR products are far beyond this standard.

PRODUCING THE SAME PRODUCTS FOR OUR CUSTOMERS AND RACERS

All of our standard off-the-shelf 4SR leather suits are manufactured in exactly the same way as the suits produced for our 4SR factory riders. We have always used the same technological processes and materials for production and custom suits and that ensures we are making the best quality riding gear available to everyone. Each panel is cut from the same template, internal and external protectors come from the same manufacturer and offer the same high level of protection across the range. It’s our philosophy to play fair and we believe you should have the same protection and quality as the professional riders you aspire to ride like, giving you the confidence and level of safety needed when riding your bike on the road or at the track.

WHY 4SR DOES NOT USE HARD METAL OUTDOOR PROTECTORS?

Since 2017 our 1pc and 2pc leather suits have featured external plastic protectors on both the shoulders and knees. It took no less than 2 years from our first sketches to final production, with the emphasis placed on maximum functionality and ergonomics of this element.

We started out with 3 possible materials to consider: Steel, Carbon and Flexible Plastic. After poor test results with the ferrite sliders, which are not elastic and will only give kinetic energy, we were left with the choice between Carbon or Flexible Plastic. Titanium sliders are often misrepresented as protectors, but protectors they are not. For this designation they lack the necessary certification and can injure very easily due to the transmitted kinetic energy sustained from a fall.
During our first crash tests, although Carbon absorbed the impact energy, it was no longer useable. Our decision was easy and we opted to use a flexible plastic. Why? Because Flexible Plastic absorbs kinetic energy and always returns to its original shape.
We can easily use metal sliders but we don't want to because we prefer quality, functionality and high level of protection.
